AUTO ACCIDENTS WITH GOVERNMENT VEHICLES

2-12-07

It may be a trend, maybe not.  But, in the last few years, it seems as though an increasing number of our clients are victims of auto accidents caused by someone driving a vehicle owned by a utility, city, county, state or federal government office.   Some of these collisions are serious and most clients have concern that their claim might be put through the "red tape" of a bureaucratic claims process.   Rather than worry about this, you should worry about whether you have an experienced attorney in the area of handling injury claims against governmental agencies and their employees.

In Nebraska, there is a state law that regulates the procedure for making a claim against political subdivisions of government. If the State law procedures are not carefully followed, your claim can be denied and your ability to recover can be forfeited.   If you have been involved in an auto collision with a vehicle that you might think is owned or operated by a government agency or employee, please immediately call an experienced attorney.  Do not hesitate as the slightest delay could jeopardize your claim.

At Kelley & Lehan, P.C., our attorneys have experience in handling these types of claims and are familiar with the state laws that set forth the procedure in making these claims.
